The method at a glance
One conversation, three stories.
Their story, your story, God's Story. You will not need all three every time. Most conversations stop at the first, and that is still a win. Learn all three so that when someone keeps going, you can go with them.

Lead the conversation by starting with them. Say hello, offer to help, ask a real question, and listen. The goal is to connect with the person, not to push a message.

Your personal testimony, told in everyday words: what life was like before Jesus, how you came to know Him, and how life has changed since.
What I've experienced, you can experience too.

The Gospel itself, in four movements anyone can follow: God's Plan, Our Problem, God's Solution, Our Response.

God's Story
The Gospel, in four movements.
The power to change lives comes from the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. Our role is to share the message clearly and authentically, because people can only respond if they've heard it.

God's Plan
“God loves us and created us for a relationship with Him.”
We were made to love God, glorify Him, and enjoy Him forever. Everything was perfect: no war, no injustice, no sickness, no brokenness, sin or death.

Our Problem
“Sin separates us from God and cannot be removed by good works.”
Man chose to go his own independent way. This self-will, active rebellion or passive indifference, is what the Bible calls sin — a condition of the heart resulting in brokenness, death and eternal separation from a Holy God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

God's Solution
“Jesus died on the cross and rose again as payment for our sin.”
Jesus was God in human flesh. He lived a perfect life, died in our place, and rose again to defeat sin and death.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.”
John 3:16 - 04Four
Our Response
“Whoever repents and trusts in Jesus alone will be saved.”
Repentance is a change of mind about our sin and our need for a savior, trusting in Jesus alone. Then ask them, plainly: does this make sense to you? Are you ready to repent and put your trust in Jesus?
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9
The prayer
If they are ready, pray this together.
Ask if they are ready to repent and put their trust in Jesus, then pray this together, one line at a time, with them repeating after you.
“Lord Jesus, I need you. I realize that I'm a sinner and can't save myself. I need Your forgiveness. I believe You are the Son of God and that You died on the cross for my sin and rose from the dead. I repent of my sin and trust You as Savior and Lord. Take control of my life and help me to follow you in obedience. In Jesus' name. Amen.”
Then what
A decision needs somewhere to go next. Share a Bible reading plan made for new believers and seekers, so their first week has something in it, and stay in touch. You are not handing over a leaflet, you are handing over a beginning.
Then tell someone what happened. What gets celebrated is what keeps happening.
